# About Orbseer

Orbseer reads the world's news and shows you where each story came from.

For every story it tells you who said it first, how many separate voices stand behind it once copies and shared owners are counted once, who owns the outlets carrying it, what each side says in its own press and its own language, which figures are disputed and by whom, whether it spread on its own or was pushed, and what was changed after publishing. Every number links to the evidence. We never say who is right.

## Why it exists

Trust in news is the lowest it has ever been measured, and almost half of people now avoid the news. The usual answer is another feed, another voice, another opinion. We think the problem is different: people cannot see where a story comes from, who is paying to repeat it, and what the other side actually said. Those are facts, not opinions, and a machine can find them faster and more evenly than any newsroom.

So Orbseer is not a newsroom. It is a public instrument, like a clock. It does the same measurement on every outlet in every country, including the ones we like, and it shows its work.

## What it is not

- It is not a fact-checker. It does not rule on truth. Three independent voices can all be wrong, and we say so.
- It is not an opinion site. There are no columns, no editorials, no ratings of people.
- It is not a feed designed to keep you scrolling. You follow the countries and subjects you choose, you are told only when a story moves, and the stack ends.
- It is not for sale. It is free to read, carries no advertising at launch, has no sponsor, and stores nothing about you beyond what is needed to send you the notifications you asked for.

## How it works, in one paragraph

An engine on a small computer reads the press of 64 countries in their own languages, follows official sources and leaders' own channels, opens the article pages, and builds a record for each story: reports, outlets, owners, quotes, claims, timestamps and edits. A second pass re-checks the evidence before anything is published. Every version is sealed into a hash chain and timestamped, so it cannot be quietly rewritten later, not even by us. The engine measures its own accuracy every day and publishes the result. The full method is on the [method page](/method/).

## Who is behind it

Orbseer is built by Life Kundali, a small independent company, with no outside funding. The people are deliberately not the point; the record is. Ownership and funding are disclosed on the [ownership page](/ownership/), and that page will change before anything about the method does.

## What we ask of you

Read the record, click the evidence, and decide for yourself. If you find a mistake, tell us: corrections are added, never hidden, and the process is on the [standards page](/standards/).

The short film on this page was rendered from code. Its soundtrack is synthesized and its narration is a synthetic voice (Kokoro, open-source); no person speaks for Orbseer.

## The sentence we are working for

That one day people say of this: that was the correct use of AI. Not because it was clever, but because it stayed boring, even, and honest for years.
