The rules the engine runs under

  1. No verdicts. Orbseer shows who said what, when, in whose words, and who owns the outlet. It never says a story is true or false.
  2. Evidence or nothing. Every fact on a card links to a page, a span on that page, a timestamp read from that page, or a registry row. Where there is no evidence the field says "not verified".
  3. The same measurement for everyone. One method, one set of thresholds, for every outlet in every country, including those we would prefer to be right.
  4. No fear. Conflict is reported, never predicted. No election outcomes are called. No crowd odds are shown in India, where they are unlawful, and none are shown as headlines anywhere.
  5. No labels on people. Outlets carry registry facts (owner, state funding). People carry their own words and dates, never a score, a "flip" or an ideology.
  6. Absence is claimed only when tested. "No report in X's press" appears only after we read enough of that press, waited long enough, and mapped most carriers.
  7. Nothing is deleted. Records are appended, never edited. A correction is a new line with a date.
  8. Humans audit; they do not curate. No list of sources is hand-picked for editorial reasons; the source tree is public and every feed in it was tested by machine.
  9. No tracking. We store a device token and a follow list for notifications and nothing else. No profiles, no sale of data, no third-party trackers.
  10. The method is public; the code and the data stay ours. Anyone can verify a dossier from its evidence without our engine.

Corrections

If a card, an owner label, an origin, a figure or a story sentence is wrong, write to [email protected] with the card link and the evidence. We check within 48 hours. A confirmed error produces a dated correction line on the card and a new sealed version; the old version remains visible in the chain. Corrections are listed, with dates, at /corrections/. We do not remove records, including about ourselves.

Right of reply

Any outlet, owner or public office-holder named on a card may send a statement. It is attached verbatim, dated and signed as a statement, in the "every side" section. We do not edit statements and we do not argue with them.

Naming people

Only public office-holders and public institutions appear in the statements lane and in Hisaab, and only in their official capacity, quoting their own words. Private individuals are not named by the engine. A lawyer reviews the naming rule before each new country goes live.

Sensitive content

Headlines about violence are reported as the outlets wrote them, with no added language. Images are shown only as outlets' own thumbnails with a link; we do not host or enlarge them. Content from outlets under US or EU sanctions is read for the record and shown as evidence, never carried as a channel.

Automated systems

Orbseer's text is assembled by software from records. A language model is used only to turn records into plain sentences and to translate headlines, and its output is kept only if every number, name and time in it exists in the records. No sentence is written by hand and no sentence is written without a record behind it.

Independence

No sponsor, no advertiser, no owner and no partner has any say in the method, the thresholds, the source tree or any card. If that ever changes, the change will be announced on this page before it takes effect.
